Kismet: noun

Fate;

No light filtered through the trees. The earth was deathly quiet and only the pitter-patter of quiet feet disturbed the eerie silence. It was neither daylight nor night; this place where the trees reached far into the heavens was always cloaked in twilight. It didn’t matter whether the air smelled of night, or crisp as the rising sun; there was nothing but soft silence and deathly gloom. Kismet had been driven away from civilization, gone into the depths of a world where no one could find her. What had made the wolf run? Fear. It was ever shifting and evolving, growing into something that would have her tuck tail and run, to heal herself from wounds inflicted by those that hunted.

How many days had gone by since she’d run into the one in the wilderness? The better question was how long was she going to lick her wounds and hide from everything? Life carried on whether she was tortured or healthy, the problems of the mind did not seem to make the world care and stop to rest a while. It continued to trudge along and left those that needed to be left behind. How many had fallen victim to the ceaseless motion of the world? It doesn’t matter. She breathed out, huddled naked in her human form against the side of a tree. Her skin was bruised and the world looked bled, her hair had grown uncannily long and wild, it happened now and then; but this time when she had come out of the darkness, gasping for breath from the cold water and clutches of death her hair had been long and stark white. It covered what needed to be covered, but still the bruises and cuts marred her skin; perhaps some would fester and she’d be deformed.

The though was detached as she peered out from beneath the fine strands of snow-white hair into the gloom of the world around her. Not a word had been uttered since she had departed from the sights of others and found that this place, though it offered little in the form of sustenance, could keep a secret better than someone in a grave. She’d crouched near a body of murky water and caught within her reflection that one eye had turned gold though filmy and the other remained crystal clear and blue, quiet like the water of a still pond. Pure and piercing, accusatory as it stared back at her. Each time she tried to remember how she had gotten into the hands of the hunters her head began to hurt. Now was no different. A man’s face swam before her, a room littered with bodies and the splitting headache that made white dots dance along her vision. Shutting both her eyes, though one was forever lost in darkness she clutched at her head and screamed. “GO AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE!” The terrified voice echoed back to her, mockingly until it died down and the crickets began to sing; marking the arrival of the night somewhere outside of this condensed and damned land the stars were shining.

But they weren’t shining for her. They never were. They were always mocking and silent conspirators with the demise and hammer that Destiny brought down on its unsuspecting victims.

lyrics • Actions. • "Speech"Thoughts

Fortune; Destiny.

~KARA~

Freya's death hung heavily on Kara's heart, losing a member of their small pack would take its toll. She had only begun to know the female, but deep inside she felt as if she lost a friend, a sister. Though her time in the pack wasn't a long as Freya and Griffins, she considered them her family. Soft pads trudged along the darkened path, if that's what it could be called, with a lump in her throat as she held back tears. Life was cruel, it cared for no one, waited for no one and would turn its cold shoulder on you in an instant.

Kara growled softly, thinking of all the lives taken. It wasn't a secret that wolves, or even supernaturals themselves lived a harsh life. They always worried about what lay around the corner, sometimes she just wished she could live in the blissfully ignorant world of the humans but that wasn't the cards she was dealt.

She had come here tonight, hoping to find something. How could something so terrible happen to Freya, the female who was gentle and strong at the same time. All she had done was help, she healed, but in the end that same ability killed her. A growl ripped from her throat as she swiped a paw at the mud in anger. Claws dug through the soft mud and flung it upwards, some even handing on her pelt. The swamp was quiet, as it usually was. No one came here, which is why Kara started when a piercing scream pierced the thick air. Her ears rang with the sound of it, familiarity smacking her in the face.

Wide eyes looked around, the scream has been close but the thick smell of mud covered many of the scents and made it difficult for Kara to tell whom was out here. With a racing heart she shot towards the scream, needing to find out what happened. Her mind ran in circles, contemplating hunters, vampires or even another wolf. White paws pushed her forward, although she almost passed Kismet up in her search. The striking color of white stood out against the gloominess of the woods. Coming to an immediate stop, crimson eyes inspected closely.

Cautiously, Kara moved towards the source of the contrast in color, the familiar scent of Kismet reaching her through the thick smell of mud. "Kismet?" She asked softly, shifting forms as she approached. "Kismet, are you ok?" she questioned again, coming in alongside the female. Her scent was all the same as it had been when they had encountered before but her looks had changed. She looked as if she had been out in the wilderness and distressed for time time as her hair was long and unruly. Her naked and marred body concerned Kara alone with the feelings that were radiating off her and whirling around Kara's senses.

With soft and gently movements, Kara moved next to Kismet. Kneeling down she put her hand ever so gently on Kismets shoulder, trying to offer comfort. "Kismet, hunny, what happened?" she asked. Kara trained her eyes on the female in-front of her, but ears twitched as she listened for whatever might have caused her harm. The silence of the woods told her that no one was lurking in the area but, cautious as she was, gathered the darkness to corm a barrier around them until this could be sorted.

Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze} Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze}   Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze} EmptyThu Aug 14, 2014 12:49 pm

Kismet didn't even flinch when Kara approached, she had been losing herself to her thoughts with each passing second, it made dealing with whatever she had gone through that much easier. Hands lay limply in her lap, half of her face hidden by the stark white hair. Jaw and muscles slack, devoid from any kind of motion and giving the notion that they perhaps had never been flexible at all. Somewhere in her mind she registered that Kara was speaking to her, but it didn’t quite click together. Her brain was short-circuiting and the synapses were firing to frayed ends that got the processes nowhere. If Kara had noticed, she was cold to the touch.

Turning her head slowly she looked at Kara and reached over to run her fingers through the woman’s hair, letting the red strands fall through them and watching their descent. There was rope burn around her wrists and the fact that her wounds hadn’t healed only meant that Kismet had been starving herself on purpose, or she just hadn’t had the will to hunt anything since. The first few days had been paranoia and disjointed thoughts filled with aggressive and volatile behavior, but now that she had had the time to dwell she simply started to shut down. The pain had been unbearable and they hadn’t known how to deal with her exactly, but she didn’t want to think of that. “They pulled out my fangs…” Absently she reached up and dipped her fingers beneath her upper lip, feeling the gap between her canines and her normal humanly blunt teeth.

“I don’t know where I am… Do you know where I am? No, it doesn’t matter, I have to find Mischa.” Kismet was driven by the insane notion that no matter what she did or where she went, she would have to find Mischa. She slid out from under Kara’s touch and got to her feet, stumbling a few steps as she headed for the murky water. Ice was left in the wake, keeping her footprints perfectly intact. Every rustle had her pausing, ears perking and eyes glittering with the dredges of madness as she looked around suspicious of her own shadow. The tips of her toes touched the water and suddenly the small swamp turned to ice, it was instantaneous and done unintentionally. The throb in her eye started up again and she hunkered down and hunched in on herself, clasping her head in both hands. “Go away. Go away. Go away.” Not only could she hear voices but she could see flickers of darker shadows zipping through her line of vision. Still crouched she turned like an animal sensing a trap closing in on them and hissed at nothing in particular. At least nothing that Kara would be able to see, but something she obviously detected. The shadows were accompanied by whispers, invading her every thought and clawing at the walls of her sanity; her eyes immediately falling on Kara. “What are you doing here? Get out of my forest!”

~KARA~

"Her skin feels like ice..." Kara thought, eyes widening as she stayed perfectly still while Kismets fingers laced though the strands of her hair. It was if the woman in front of her was feral, whatever happened had caused her to snap. "By the looks of it, whatever happened hadn't been pleasant." She thought. A soft growl escaped her throat though it wasn't for the woman in front of her but for whomever had caused her this damage.

Eyes followed her hand as Kismet felt around the empty space her fangs had been, a deep frown forming on her lips. "Who? Who did this?" Kara pressed, thoughts of finding her attackers coming to the forefront of Kara's mind. The sounds of Kismets voice was almost haunting, the confusion and sadness ringing in her ears. "You're in the Schtien Woods, in the swamp. But how did.." she began to ask how the woman had come to find herself here but was cut off by the sudden movement of Kismet standing.

Standing also, Kara moved to follow close behind should she fall. "Kismet, please...dont go anywhere. I will help you, but I need to get you somewhere safe." She said, reaching out her hand as if she was reaching for the woman ahead of her. "Who ever Mischa is, I will help you find him but you cant wander the woods wounded...this isint the best place." Kara warned. She worried that they wpuld attract the attention of the swamps not so friendly creatures, hairs on the back of her neck standing on end.

As Kara neared the waters edge, she watched Kismet scrunch up. Kara wasn't sure if she was telling her to leave or something else but either way, Kara stayed put. "Come on hunny, lets go.." she said softly, reaching out to touch the female. The hiss from Kismet caused Kara to flinch back slightly, not wanting to make the female attack. Wide eyes assessed her as Kismet demanded she leave, crimson eyes meeting that of Kismets. "I'm here trying to help you.." Kara started, her eyes narrowing slightly to show she wasn't going to listen. "And I'm not leaving without you." she said.

Part of Kara began to second guess what she was going to do. All her senses told her to get the hell out of the swamp but she couldn't leave Kismet alone. Taking a step back, she moved to give Kismet some space so the woman wouldn't feel trapped. With a deep breath she searched out, silently seeking Blaze. Kara worried that a howl would scare the already timid female. "Blaze, I need you. In Schtien Woods, in the swamp. She pushed out, knowing that her message was urgent enough to catch his attention. "Kismet, please try to calm yourself." Kara tried again, reaching out for the woman.

Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze} Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze}   Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze} EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 12:45 am

He had found Kismet in the warehouse; how- He didn't know, perhaps there was some strong bond hidden in the promise of protection he had given her when they had first met, but somehow he'd known she was in trouble.
But something within Kismet had changed, Benjamin could see it the moment he freed her from her ties. It had been proven when she had run from him the moment they were free of the warehouse. He'd followed her but it had proven futile, he'd lost her in the city and tracking her since... Well, tracking wasn't exactly his strong point, especially in human form and he knew that his wolf form would have attracted more attention than he'd like.
His search had lead him across the Delta, not sure where she might have gone in her desperation to get away from what ever those bastards had done to her. Not even Nimeria had spied her from high above the trees; his search had been all for naught.
He had retired around dawn for a few hours of rest. A fire crackled absent of tinder beside him to help with rejuvenation and speed up the REM time so he might continue sooner. There had been no dreams as he sprawled out in wolf form, he preferred to sleep in this form for warmth. Blankets were so restricting in human form and they always got caught around his legs and made him feel trapped.
"Blaze" The name spoken by such a voice jolted him awake with such enthusiasm he was raised to standing " I need you. In Schtien Woods, in the swamp.". The emotions that ran within Kara were mirrored in him for the moment their link remained and it threw him into a panic. She was distressed and anxious- but she wasn't alone.
He broke into a sprint, leaving behind the fire as it extinguished itself. Tendrils of smoke reached out to him as if caught by a breeze, but he as gone before they could catch him, Nimeria in close tow.

Kismet paused and raised her head, she looked over her shoulder at the woman who she thought she recognized but couldn’t quite place. “A safe place?” The thought that someone else had promised her a safe place burst to brilliant light so fiercely that she bent forward and dug her fingers into her hair, tearing them down while screaming at the top of her lungs. It was a fire that burned in the depths of her memory, one she had stowed away in order not to give out any secrets. Kismet’s mind had been fractured, and the images came like a reel of undeveloped film, all stuck together and incoherent. A body torn to shreds, pieces scattered across a yard, ribbons of intestines and pieces of flesh. The smell of blood, metallic and rusty in the air mingling with the fresh and crisp of the cold.

The temperature surrounding Kara and Kismet began to plummet significantly, the bark of trees froze and then splintered from the sudden plunge, her toes burned with the cold of the ice and it started to rise, building upon itself as it threatened to tilt the world and take it down with her. Hell could not melt what she was creating, her palace of ice and desolation, the pain buried in the fractals of its magnificence. She stopped her shrill scream abruptly and panted raggedly, her throat burning and her one eye pulsing erratically. There was a change in the air and slowly Kismet turned to face Kara, her face void of everything, including the fear that she had felt at being in the presence of another. This was not something that would end on good terms, and perhaps there would be more than one harmed on their way out, but suddenly Kara had turned into a thread. “He promised he would keep me safe. Keep the hunters away… He lied. Failed. They took me anyway. There is no safe place.”

Kismet stretched out on all fours, her body taking on the shift, but it had grown far too thin, formed grotesquely skinny as her skin twisted and turned along the creases and joints of her bones and muscles; giving her the gnarled look of a white tree’s bark. They elongated as they took on the properties of a wolf and her mouth twisted, broke and reformed as the muzzle began to take shape. Blood seeped down from her pores, her one good eye gleaming as the light hit it just right while the other remained with a white film over it, taking on a softer quality of opaque gold. She was a feral creature, a thing of the wild and Kara was the threat that she was willing to eliminate in order to protect herself. The wilderness was her safe haven, since she had been here none had harmed her, it had fed her instead. Or starved her, depending on what way you looked at it; and Kara’s presence was going to upset that balance. There as a soft throbbing in her gums, the place where her other fangs had been, and yet her body adjusted to their lack of presence.

~KARA~

An outreached hand never made it to Kismet, retracing as Kismet spoke, crimson eyes locking with that of the woman's in an attempt to placate her. "Yes, somewhere safe. Here is not that place...come with me and I will take.." she stopped her words abruptly, the sound of Kismets scream echoing in sensitive ears. Her face scrunched in reflex to the sound, hand coming up to cover her ears in an attempt to drown out the noise.

A low growl arose from deep within her chest at the way the situation was going, feeling like she wasn't making any headway. With a deep breath, Kara allowed her senses to open up, allowing Kismets emotions to roll over her consciousness like tidal waves crashing against a shoreline. She tried to focus on the way the female was feeling, the distress she seemed to be in. Something had to be causing this, it seemed like her mental state had snapped, her ability to think and form rational thought obscrewed.

Another layer of shock settled over her as her breath came out as a puff of fog in the air, the temperature dropping at an alarming rate. Opening and closing her fists, dark tendrils gathered around her feet, chopping and swirling at the building ice as if to keep it from touching Kara. The power emitting from the female infront of her was incredible, almost putting her in a state of awe. Though it was short lived, realization snapped at her attention as she once again locked eyes with Kismet.

Instantly, she knew something had changed. She could feel the deep instinct within Kismet that made the female take the defense against Kara, making her the new enemy. Skilled eyes watched as the human body before her began to break and remold into a very malnourished form of a wolf. Eyes began to glow as she slowly looked around, wondering and hoping that Blaze had heard her. Without seeing her, she returned her gaze to the wolf infront of her and resigned herself that she might have to engage in a fight with a female she had no ill will towards.

"Please remember, I only want to help." she said lastly, her words both a warning and a plea, hoping her wolf would understand her unwillingness to lay paw to her. The change for Kara was second nature, taking in a deep breath she pictured herself as a wolf. It seemed effortlessly now, morphing her human form into that of a white and red wolf. Even in small stature, she stood at full height, fur fluffed making her appear larger then she really was. Tail was erect as well as her ears, on top of a head that was held high as she looked upon Kismet with wolven eyes.

Lips raised to show white fangs, a growl ringing over the area around the two females. She took her stance, planting her paws firmly on the ground beneath her. She hoped that by taking the form that Kismet had, the female would understand that she was the same, they were both wolves and she only wished to help.

PostSubject: Re: Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze}   Lost and Found {Kara, then Blaze} EmptyMon Feb 02, 2015 7:04 am

(Woo! Interwebs!)

A warm breath caused fog to appear naught where it should, it was the first sign of a temperature change in the atmosphere - but not what drew the attention. The subtle change from the soft crunch of freshly fallen leaves to the snap of frozen foliage was the next to be had, though there would be no mind payed. Instead, emerald eyes are fixated upon the sudden change of visual effects within the Schtien Wood. Brows furrowed in both confusion and wonder before lifting to allow hues to view the bird above- instinct to make sure no harm had befallen her though the two would share pain.
Ice climbed skyward, entrapping the trees that past by as the pace taken by massive paws was slowed. There was only one whom Benjamin know to hold such powers in the Kumari Lands; only one that he knew Kara might have something to do with.
A gruff noise past his lips allowing for minimal movement of the jaw, executed by a puff of fog as he proceeded to increase his own speed.
It had been weeks since Blaze had seen Kismet, weeks that were spent searching for her. He had found the remnants of ice within the warehouse in the city- puddles, left to dry hours after they were left without fuel to move and weave into ice. The people scattered upon the floor had been a surprise to say the least. Whether Kismet had killed them or they had been left to die as a trap for someone else, he did not know; and somehow he knew that now was not the time for those answers. They would have to wait.
I am close. He said to Kara, alerting her that he was near. He could feel her emotions and how they spread as she shifted into wolf form, stronger now that they were of the same skin; and Kismet's. The bond they shared was nothing compared to Kara and he, but he could feel the tension in the air. The feral angst.
I do not want to cause her more alarm when she is this way. The thought was pressed upon Kara, not unwillingly but it was his all the same. Paws halted, I can feel her, Kara. Calm her, I do not want her to think we are ambushing her. - and he remained still, out of sight, awaiting the okay he needed to proceed, Nimeria circling close over head, silent.
