Present meets the Present Empty
PostSubject: Present meets the Present    Present meets the Present EmptyMon Feb 13, 2012 9:11 am

The candle light flickered, as a draft came from the open window in the tower. Vena slipped from her bed chambers curious to find out about what the meeting with the Alpha and his generals where about. Soft scuffles of her padded Count Dracula slippers, softly brushed against the floor. Her night gown dressed to match her slippers; Count Dracula's fang-y smile along with bat wings covered her dark blue pjs. Going to the window she shut it as a blast of cold air blew her shoulder length blonde hair back away from her face. Moving away from the window she headed out of her room and down the spiral stone steps leading down to a hallway.

The candles that lined the stoned wall were the only light that lit her path; however, even without its light, she'd still be able to see. The lights flickered, making shadows dance on each step. As she made it to the bottom she looked left and then right, not wanting to be caught.

The cobblestone hallway stretched from one end to the other. Knowing one or more of Charles' men where roaming about the castle, she had to be quiet, for a werewolf’s' sense of hearing was very keen. As she made her way further and further down it split into a three way. She could continue straight, turn around and go back to her room, or hang a left.

Hanging a left she ventured a few feet before she stopped suddenly as she heard voices coming from one of the doors. Lavender eyes looked to the door where the voices where coming from. Needing someplace to hide, her small hands tried the knob to the left of the other door, it was locked. Sighing softly her eyes glowed before her form, along with her clothes, turned to lavender grey mist and went under the door. Reforming, she caught her balance as her foot almost landed in a pail of water. She was inside what seemed to be a janitorial closet, for it housed mops, brooms, and other miscellaneous cleaning supplies. She stayed very still for the space was very limited. She bit her lip as she heard the voices pick back up.

Male 1: "We have looked for her for the past decade sir. We came close to finding her. But by the time the men and I showed up she was long gone. Here is the case file, with all of the locations we've pin pointed, we are very close to zeroing in on her exact location."

Hearing the conversation Vena leaned closer to the wall very interested now. She assumed the sound that she heard was the sound of the case file being slid across the desk to another person. There was silence before another voice responded.

Male 2: "I hope you are right, the last time we came back empty-handed…He wasn't too pleased. With these current photos; however, it'll show him we have made progress...."

Vena wondered who they were talking about, and why would they be searching for some girl? Her curiosity got the better of her and when another voice sounded down the hall, the voice thunderous as it called to the two men. She rolled her eyes at the voice, Axis, head of the hunting party. Since it was he, she assumed the two men in the next room where is under dogs. From where she stood she heard the two men exit the room. The sound of the metal piece clicking closed as the door shut behind them. She counted to twenty just to make sure, even though her nose and other senses told her she was in the clear. Going to the door she let herself out and went to where the voices had come from.

It was a study of some sort, the walls made of bookshelf’s lined with books, a desk and chair, computer with a lamp sitting close to the edge on an oak desk. This room much bigger than the one she was just in. The first place she looked was the top of the desk for the file, but all that was there was the 18" flat screen monitor and the keyboard in front of it along with the desk lamp. She sighed and frowned lightly. She moved to the other side of the desk and sat in the ergonomic black leather chair. She pulled open the drawers on the desk and leafed through everything that was inside. There were many folders but coming across a vanilla folder that looked aged and also smelled of fresh scents of the men that had previously left, she pulled it out. On the outside cover was a photo of a girl paper clipped to the folder. Arching a brow she leaned forward laying the folder on the desk and opening it up. Her eyes got huge as she read the information, her eyes roaming over every word, figure, and photo, her brain taking in everything. Turning the chair to the left she pushed the button for the fax/copier/scanner/printer to come on and she opened the lid.

Placing the photo down first she then picked up one of the papers that had the locations of the female pin pointed across the map down on top. Shutting the lid she hit the color button. She disliked that the scanner was semi loud, but it was fast. So as the paper came into the tray she snatched it up. Turning off everything she opened the lid and placed the original back where it went, along with the photo attached to the outside. After a moment she closed the file, and placed it back exactly where she took it from. Folding the paper she copied she tucked it into her pants' waistline putting her shirt over it.

As she exited the room intent on heading to the main hall where no doubt Charles sat in his "throne", the original human king long dead, a familiar voice reached her ears. "Where have you been? I have looked everywhere for you!!" a soft loudness hit her ears as one of the castles help and her personal servant, spotted her coming out of the room. "You’re supposed to be in your room" she said. As Vena came towards her, her words stopping short. Glenda, the woman speaking to Vena, dressed in a long dull blueish dress, her blonde hair coming to her shoulders, motioned Vena to come on. Vena took Glenda's outstretched hand, and the two of them went back to Vena's room.

Disappointed she didn’t get to see the meeting, she smiled looking to her personal servant, Glenda. “Goodnight” she said, the words holding a menacing thought. As Glenda left her bed chambers she pulled out the folded paper and looked over it. It was a map of a world she had never been to, for she has never stepped foot off the place she was born. Her scanned the map polk-a-dotted with a few dots. She assumed it was where Axis and his men had spotted the woman over a perioud of time. With fresh eyes and a new mind, vena saw a shape forming through out the dots, using her fingers to draw the weird looking shape, she looked puzzled, but after a moment she smiled and the lines intersected in one location. She tapped that spot, "See you there, Lady". Gleefully she hid the paper under pillow and slept soundly with a nice dream.

The following morning, Glenda awoke Vena to do their normal actives. First she brought in breakfast and while the child was eating she ran her water.
"What would you like to do today, Vena?” Glenda asked. Looking up to her, "Oh, I want to play Secret Agent," she said innocently, a smile spreading across her face. "Glenda, this mission is top secret." she told her, her voice still pleasant, childlike. Glenda smiled and nodded, as she stood in the door way to the bathroom.

"Very well," she spoke softly, inclining her head and heading back in to turn off the water. Vena's room consisted of a large four poster queen sized bed. Black and red silk sheets and tons of throw pillows piled high, to the side of the bed stood a night stand, on the far wall was a dresser, and in the corner adjacent from her bed was a clamorous fireplace. Pictures of her and Glenda, along with various photos of plants and wildlife hung proportionally on the walls that made up her room. Slipping out of bed, Vena went to eat her breakfast at the small table in the middle of her room.

After eating, bathing, and slipping on a pair of blue jeans, a t-shirt and her dress coat she began to pull a few of her outfits from the closet. Glenda, finishing with the chores blinked at her, “What are you doing, Vena? I just put those away for you” she asked and began to put them back up.

“Now now, remember when I said I wanted to play. Well it qualifies for us to leave France.”

Gasping, the clothes Glenda held fell to the floor. “Vena!!, she exclaimed, “We cannot. Master will have our hides... He’d kill me for sure!” Her face was deathly pale and she planted her bottom on the bed to rest a moment. Finally she looked to Vena, stricken by what she had said, “Surely we can’t child. He has forbidden it.” She tells her, her hand resting against her heart.

Vena shrugged her shoulders, defiantly. “You and I will go and no one will be the wiser. Pack your things when you are able and tonight meet me out by the lake. We'll use the row boat to head to the city and from there.. Well... I'll figure out something” she said with a smile, her kanines peaking through.

Gulping, Glenda nodded not wanting to anger the child-girl. Though Glenda new she was more than that. Looking at her, she looked a mere child of eight years old, gentle. She could be gently, Glenda thought, but she had the strength and temperament of two very unlikely species that had been brought together in an act of pure evil.

“Why are you just sitting there?” Vena rolled her eyes and packed a back pack of her things. Hearing her voice, Glenda snapped out of her thoughts, “Nothing, but we should do as we normally do Vena so no one thinks anything ill towards us.

After she and Glenda departed, through out the day and evening Vena went to her studies. After her studies in the morning she trained with Axis's men in hand to hand combat, and later through-out the evening she shifted to her lycan form to hunt with them.

Her lycan form was small, accomodating with her heighth in her human form. Axis' lycans was longer, taller and had more muscel mass than she, however she was the first to make a kill this night. Looking to others in triumph she ate, the meat satisfying her beast and the blood sedating her vampic side.

Once the hunt was over and she had been giving the right to leave by Axis, she headed to her room to retrieve her belongings, no doubt that Glenda would be on her way to the lake.

Taking the steps that led to her room two at a time, she made it there in no time. A bit winded the wolf shape began to grow tall to her vampire form. The child stretched and smiled her fangs glisening in the candle light. She snatched the back pack from the closet and then strode over to the bed, reaching under her pillow she took the folded piece of paper with the map and the womans picture printed on it and stuffed into her pack pack. Opening the one drawer on her nightstand she took out a small ring holder box and gentle placed into her pack pack, zipping it up she walked to the window, leaped onto the cill and glided down to the ground.

The back pack on her back, she scented the air before looking around. Darting from the building she made it behind the tree line. From there she ran/flitted all the way to the lake.

Glenda, nervous, hid among the trees, her heart was pounding franticaly in her chest.

"Glenda, it's safe" a quiet voice called out. Hearing the voice she dared a glance around the tree. Seeing Vena she sighed and walked to her. "What ever you have planned.. " she shook her head un able to finish. Helping her into the boat Glenda got in after her, the two of them each took an oar and began to row away from the castle and its surrounding lands to the city.

Vena took up most of the rowing, Glenda, being human tired easily. The two females sat in silence the whole ride. Finally, as the sun began to rise, the front of the boat hit land.

Stirring as Vena rocked her shouldier, Glenda awoke with a start. "Shh" said Vena steered the boat to the edge. They where in the city now, in a small canal that traveled throw the streets.Helping Glenda, Vena took her hand guiding her out of the boat, her own luggage in a back pack over her shouldiers. "Come, we need to find the airport"

Walking hand in hand, Glenda and Vena blended into the streets as everyday people. Glenda playing roll of the mom. Digging in her backpack for food Glenda broke off a peice for her and Vena.

Walking for a few minutes Glenda signaled for a cab. After it stopped they got inside telling the cabbie to drive to the airport please.

Looking in the rearview mirror, the plump balding man smiled "If you ladies don't me asking, what are the two of you doing up at this hour in the morning" his words gentle not prying true concerne filled his voice.

Vena's eye gleamed but Glenda's hand upon her hand stopped her "We visited a distant cousin and now we are on our way back home" her eyes looking to the mans identification "Mr. Evans". The old man chuckled "please ma'am, call me Bob''

After that the conversation led to safer topics and before they new it the aiport was in site. Bob, the cabbie pulled up and stopped getting out to open the door for them. Sporting a smile, Glenda handed him his fair.

Vena, smiled sweetly. "Mr. Ev..i mean Bob. I want to show you show you something" she said sweetly. The old man paused beside his driver side door and leaned down "oh?!" he chuckled "what's that darlin'" he said cheery. Catching his gaze, Vena's vampiric eyes ablazed with power. "If you are questioned you did not help a woman and her daughter. You will not recognize us whether it be in person, photo, conversation, or any other means." Her gaze went through him, into his memories and she plucked at the ones that had to do with her and glenda. Mending his memory to a random person her had to take to the aiport.

Coming to, the old man shook his head looking at the bills in his hand and got in a bit confused but blamed on him being tired. Meanwhile, Vena and Glenda had disappeard inside the aiport.

Manipulating the mind of the blonde headed younge woman behind the desk, was simple. Within a few minutes, two tickets where handing over to Glenda. the young woman behind the desk, her eyes absent minded, pupils dialiated as Vena "suggested" that she give them the tickets.

Glad that part was over, Glenda took Vena by the hand, leading her to a seat. They had ten minutes until their plane was called.

Boarding the plane was swiftly done. In the air now, Vena looked out of the window. "They look like little ants." Three hours in, 'I'm hungry", she whispered to Glenda, her eyes shifting over the heads of the humans on board. Glenda, being prepared, opened her purse. Taking out a small canister she clicked the button and a tiny red pill popped out. She handed it to Vena and nodded for the girl to take it.
