The Senator Makes His Speech (Open: All Members)

Evergreen park was a flurry of excitement, it's green lawns now host to a large gathering of Muchani inhabitants before a large stage decorated with blue and white balloons and large placards adorned with the PR image of Senator Dawson. Security guards stood to attention around the stage, flanking where the Senator would soon step up to make his grand speech to the citizens of Muchani city and where he would announce the new registration policy for non-humans. The crowd had begun to gather earlier in the day, a few arranged food trucks set up to provide food and beverages to the masses and Ox Corp soldiers dotted about the crowds on duty.They were there for crowd control and more importantly a few select soldiers were also tasked with looking out for those suspected to be individuals of a species other then human. Major Emerson, Dr Granger and three other officials took their seats on the stage to the right, making polite conversation between themselves as they awaited the arrival of the senator.

Naturally one would have expected Anastasia to stay out of the way of Muchani city though there was little worth in hiding from an unknown enemy. She had grown more at ease when it came to entering the city boundaries however there was still an inward anxiety when she was present in large groups of strangers. Today was vital for her to hide away her insecurities and dress in clothing typically seen to be adorned on the bodies of city dwellers, walking among those who were friendly to her kind and others who wished to eradicate her friends from the face of the earth. This new senator seemed to be in support of the latter and his highly publicized speech was definitely a concern.

Mahogany and black waves of hair framed her face as she strolled through the crowd to find a spot where she didn't feel so hemmed in with the other public faces, her eyes hidden behind a plain black off the shelf shades she had picked up from a local chemist. She bought a fresh pair of blue jeans and a black Sabbath band shirt from the cd store next to the city train station. The plain clothes enabled her to blend in with a group of people with no features which would expose who she was or why she was there to listen to Senator Dawson. she finally found a small space to stand which wasn't too crowded and pulled a cell from her pocket, pressing a button to briefly light the screen and reveal the time. She hid any look of concern from her face in reaction to the presence of armed Ox corp guards, taking the opportunity to scope out their numbers and weapons under the guise of looking at the food truck offering breakfast pancakes.

Since running into Maylin things had thankfully gone a lot slower then she had imagined they would have gone and she had been left to fend for herself the majority of the time. This suited Mikayla fine, she needed to accustom herself to life on her own and to being free in her life's memory all she had ever known was captivity and being owned. That is why when rumors of a new power started floating around it drew her attention, setting her nerves on edge. New power often meant a big push for control, a large power play and people like herself were usually the ones to suffer, she couldn't think of anything worse then going to such a crowded place but she couldn't talk herself out of the fact that she needed to know what was going on. Especially if she wanted to remain in her new home.

She donned a pair of pale sun glasses to conceal the more yellow tint to her eyes as she had become aware that was not a usual human trait. Other then that she wore very understated clothing, being noticed was not something she would have wanted. She wore dark blue jeans and a plain long sleeved navy blue shirt everything about her unremarkable which was comforting to her as she stepped passed some guards and into the park.
Eyes drifted to the balloons watching them sway and pull in the breeze with slight distraction she had never seen such things before but soon she forced herself to look away her eyes finding a large desk like feature which everyone seemed to be looking at.
The stage held some people she could only assume were the ones they would have to listen to, merging into the crowd she folded her arms about her midriff and steadied herself to listen.

Tension hung in the air obvious to any who was observant enough to feel it. Humans and those who had any powers they did not always had conflicts, mostly for foolish reasons for those creatures that had a lifespan that most of them would call short. To Light the lifespan as just like a phase in her life, like youth. That was in fact a good way to look at humans, youths. They had not been around long compared to other races, and had very little time to mature, to grow wise to the way of the world and learn that they were not it's soul inhabitants. The woman looked at the crowd doing her best to go unnoticed, the soft glow around her was as weak as she could make it, visible to any magical creature no doubt, but not to any humans. Ah humans, her eyes, a very light blue for the moment thanks to the abilities of the body she inhabited looked them over. Although Kit was not fond of them due to what they did to her old pack, and that cruel hunter that took her eye Light felt a certain fondness to them as she did all things. Where her siblings were those that controlled the elements of the world, her and her twin ruled over the elements in the souls of every living thing, including these humans. They had just as much of a chance to be good or bad as any living creature did, well except demons in her mind at least.

Waiting, Light adjusted her jacket, a black leather one with straps rather than a zipper, something a little different than the norm. It was fun honestly, picking out her own outfits. That of course did not mean she didn’t want Kit back… but maybe when she was back Light would have a little more freedom. Glancing down to her dark, almost black skinny jeans tucked into knee length black boots she smiled.That or she could talk KIt into seeing herself for how pretty she really was and have her wear outfits like this, ones that showed the figure she knew she had. But, these thoughts were just simple ones, ones to keep her mind free from the tension in the air at least until she, and others magical creatures in this land needed to face it.

Bade's eyes scanned the crowd as it grew. Regular checks were conducted to ensure that nothing was going to go wrong today. He had assured Senator Dawson that things would go according to plan and he felt the weight of responsibility for it's success on his shoulders.

The crowd seemed passive. Some eager faces excited about the future prospect but it was the other faces he watched. Those who seemed apprehensive or angry. They were the threats and he made sure that those who stood out to him were kept at a distance. The last thing he needed was an assassination attempt to mark the beginning of this process.

Bade pressed on a device in his ear that he used to communicate with the other soldiers. He wasn't leaving anything to chance. " Has anyone got eyes on Dawson yet? " he asked as he glanced at his watch. He hated to be late and as he brushed is blonde hair out of his face he wondered about what was happening at home and if he should of left Crowe in charge of Arcane instead of bringing him along but it was to late to change that now.

Patiently he waited for a responce from behind the podium. He held onto the rather large gun he felt was completely unnecessary at the time. He wasn't accustomed to playing bodyguard to Senators but the Board had asked him to handle this personally. So here he was, ever the dutiful soldier hoping that this thing was over soon so he could have a much needed drink.

The vampire was here, moving among the officials, shifting his cover and outward appearance psychically. Making himself appear as a very nondescript peon that nobody could really get a good focus on, simply knowing that someone who at least looked like they belonged had passed them by. Pausing behind a man who looked like a coordinator, Lucius leaned over the shorter man's shoulder, looking at what was on the clip board. 'Hm, a Senator Dawson, I have heard that name in these lands before, I really should pay him a visit, he might prove useful to, get to know.' the pale being grinned to himself, siphoning off just a small taste of the man's, the human's he quickly found, aura, just as a mortal or other being would take a small sip of water to sate their thirst for a time.

Hearing a voice speak with authority drew his attention from the extremely mundane little man with the clipboard. Turning red flaked blackness where eyes would be, he saw the source of the voice. A man wearing a uniform was speaking into what looked from here to be an ear piece. 'My my, he looks far more interesting than this fool.' Moving away from the man, Tom, his name was, Lucius gave him a shove, for no other reason than because he could, before making his way towards the new object of his attention. This man had far more force of will, and actually seemed to be somewhat important in the scheme of things at this event, whatever it was for.

Blade had been drawn here from the tavern from hearing the talk about the event. Evidently the local government was trying to put a tagging system into place to keep track of anyone who wasn't human, at least, that was his understanding of it. He actually had exchanged his usual leathers for jeans and a t-shirt. Granted, the t-shirt was a very snug fit, showing off the expanse of his chest and the muscle definition to be found there. This was an outfit he wore from time to time to garner the attention of local females, who were rather unaccustomed to seeing someone of his, for this world, rather impressive build. A few hundred years ago he had been called an Adonis, but had vanished again before any sculptors could corner him into talks about posing for a statue.

Staying near the back of the crowd, he spotted Cayden, making his way over to him. "Any read on the crowd, or the people organizing this yet?" He asked the younger male. "Something just feels off about all of this, besides what they are going to announce. There was a slight darkening around him as he pulled shadows in, collecting them in the overly large pockets of the jeans he wore. If need be, he would be calling upon them as weaponry if nothing else. He also spotted Mikaylah and Kit, though he suspected there were more here that he did not yet see. He also kept one eye on the stage to make sure no surprises came from that direction.

Impressed with the world, she held left the lands she had awakened from to learn more about this new world such as the internet, the president, crime rates. Anything she could get hold of. She did not like being ignorant of her surroundings and the goings on around her. After reading up on today’s fashion as well, she dressed like the woman she had seen, tight jeans, flashy top, and designer boots for the colder weather. The wind breaker jacket helped with the sun that tried to shine down on them. Her remarkable gift of not being remembered had come in handy when she slipped inside national security buildings and museums, learning history, present, and future designs.

She was not about to miss out on this speech in the park. It was crowded sure, but she need not blend in. No one would remember her anyway. She wondered if Lucius was here. Did he partake in events that would alter things for him and his home?

She deposited a buck fifty on the cotton candy stand and plucked a blue and pink cone from its holder. The park was filled with many humans, but her nose detected wolf. Her eyes scanned the area and picked up the male wolf, Lucuis had a mob go after. She moved through the crowd careful not to bump into the many children that ran about or their parents. Finding a spot under a shady tree, she licked the foamy blue and pink swirled top into her mouth. The sugary concoction instantly melting in her mouth as her eyes looked around to ensure that these military people where not about to circle them or do something. Paranoid? Yes, her own mate had “killed” her and chained her in her coffin and shipped her off. Said ship got attacked and sank with her in it and an eternity she awoke as the sun went down, her body instinctual knowing the time, to only die as water filled her lungs.

She spotted a few soldiers walking the grounds, one eyed her and she smiled and lifted her hand in a small wave before eating more of her treat.

Her eyes narrowed as she felt his presence. At least he was keeping up to date with things.

Pandora had found herself in the middle of a bustling crowd of people before she could even really process it, much to her dismay. She had simply walked into the park after returning from another adventure she had taken on her own, and wandered into a mob of people without even realizing it until it basically swept her away. Despite her dislike of people, Pandora's curiosity had peeked by the sheer amount of people she saw around, so she couldn't help but follow the crowd to find out what was going on that had drawn so many humans here.

"Ugh... I really wish there were less people..." She murmured to herself, her timid nature already causing her nerves to spike before she even arrived at the event. "But I doubt I can find an open spot to get out of this crowd though, sooo... Guess I'm just going to have to see what's going on..." The seventeen year old sighed quietly.

Soon after, the auburn-haired girl found herself in the back of the gathered crowd, where there were at least less people for her to deal with. I do hope this is worth being in such a big crowd... She thought, shifting her weight as she subconsciously fiddled with the necklace she never took off and wearily gazed around. She could definitely scent other wolves, including her own adopted father, but Pandora didn't really bother to try to find them... There were too many strangers she would have to pass to reach them, way too many for her liking.

Noctis hadn't changed much since his arrival in Muchani; the irresistible stir of a crowd, the clamour of drama and the delicious scent of uncertainty all promised one thing: entertainment. The small black wolf had made his way to where this colourful atmosphere seemed to eminate from, keeping the cool shade, the edge of the blurry crowd.
Toxic, chartreuse eyes scanned the area, trying to home in on any familiar faces, but everyone here appeared human, even though distinctly familiar scents caused Noctis' nostrils to twitch, and his mind to whirr, perplexed at the whole spectacle.
What could he do, though?
This was obviously no place for a wolf, and, as far as he knew, this was his only form, -though his powers were all fairly newfound and not yet polished. It was beginning to annoy him now, for he was certain, 100% certain, that at least two or three known scents lurged within the sea of the crowd.
That was when he remembered Veita, -how she'd been able to switch forms between human and wolf. It dawned on him, he'd been right after all: Maylin, his new friend Blaze's daughter, was part of this fray just as much as he was. He took a seat in the cool, blue shadow of a nearby tree, squinting into the sea of faces. This was stressful, but much better than doing nothing with his day.
