As his head twitched to the left his eyes began to move beneath their lids. The muscles in his face pulling into a grimace his lips parted to reveal gritted teeth a groan passing through them as Miles started to come back to the world of the living.
Yet to figure out what was going on he started to move. The bullet had lodged itself inside his head nestled nice and safe within his brain. Turning onto his side he opened his eyes, nothing but red filled them. Blood, some of it was his some of it was hers.
He blinked the image as a number of seconds passed before he realized the one beside him was Sylvia and that the love of his life was far beyond saving, half her skull having been blown away.
"Sylv.." he groaned pushing himself upwards more his arms moving to cradle her. He rose the lifeless body up to his face burying it underneath her neck her face upturned, head tilted back and in that position he stayed until he lost all sense of meaning and time.

The buzzing of flies pulled him back to reality, Sylvia was no longer limp against him, she was frozen there, her skin now a blueish tinge and sunken, her cheeks hollow. He flinched at the sight of her dropping her back against the bed as he jumped up onto his feet, hi legs unsteady his body uncoordinated due to injury.
He looked upon the horrors around him and gasped bile rising in his throat, threatening to escape the same way his tears were now as they fell down his face.
He didn't know anything other then instinct and his instinct was telling him to get out. Turning around he stumbled towards the door falling out of it onto his hands and knees, throwing up the insides of his stomach the moment the fresh air hit him.

It wasn't safe, he could feel that, where all logical thought was gone he followed his feet once h was back on them, he began a very muddled run finding it difficult at first to stay upon his feet. He followed the tree line until he came to a large clearing. Dizzy and exhausted he looked around for a source of water but found none. Knees weakening he fell onto them, his head lowering until it touched the cold unforgiving ground. his words were slurred but they were clear enough to be heard and louder then he had meant them to be "What the fuck is going on?"

"Fear reminds us we're alive."

Muscles became taught between each rib on the left side of his torso, manoeuvring his body away from the oncoming fist towards the face. It slipped past his ear, clipping the soft cartilage on the upper end. Glowing emerald eyes, encircled in a gold ring became shadowed under the deep brows that cast darkness from the sun with movement as he hand clenched to a tight fist and rocketed from beside his body towards the opponent in an uppercut to the gut -
- but instead of flesh on flesh, he was met with air. The demon he faced had moved from reach within the second of time it had taken for Benjamin to throw his fist.
Blaze continued with the momentum, stepping forward upon left foot and spinning upon heel to narrowly miss a sharp elbow aimed at the soft part between the neck and shoulder.
His right foot, now towards the anterior of his body and his opponent, took but a fraction of a second to touch the ground to regain balance before it was forced with a pointed toe towards the white skinned man. Hard bone within the shin was met with the solid bone of the lower ulnar nearest the elbow in the forearm of his foe with a loud crack; but neither man nor demon took a moment to admire it nor their surroundings.
Benjamin tore away from his opponent before Shaiten had time to make reach for him, and careened forward. His upper torso lowered and arms flung wide as he tackle the demon, shoulder to shoulder to stomach. Any other man might have felt the sting of such an attack, but an entity not of this world would simply pressed heel to floor and anchor himself still. Grass slid under foot of the demon as Benjamin held fast his attack, but he knew it was to no avail.

This was made a reality when the sharp pang of pain stabbed into his back, through the inner organs and deep into the chest as an elbow met his naked flesh. Instantly winded, the man fell face first into the floor and grabbed at the ground for purchase upon breath.
A few seconds seemed like minutes as they passed slowly; but when a deep breath was caught, the stale stench of blood came with it. Benjamin's brow creased in both a frown and desperate need to reach his feet, and so he forced himself up.
Upon taking another breath, the chest tightened so much that the male had to bend over in order to relieve the pain; but he couldn't ignore the stench upon the back of his tongue. Emerald eyes darted from left to right in search of it's birth place.
The demon had disappeared and Benjamin knew he had smelt it also; a white raven circled over head.

It carried the scent every wolf had, but it was foreign to his memory. He sucked in another breath, almost contained, and stood to full height. It was then that he saw the man. Even from such a distance he could see the blood, dried and stuck to his face, body and clothes. He stumbled a few steps before gaining purchase and beginning in a slow run. It was all he could muster in his current condition, all the while, those absinthe hues searched the surrounds for danger. This man was hurt, that was clear; it was also clear that his wounds were not fresh, but the chance of danger upon his pack borders was very real.
"Dont come any closer.". The warning was forced out with a full breath and sounded as clear as the intent of it, "You are stepping upon pack lands!" - he wasn't, but it was too close for comfort.
Benjamin would not chance this man to step closer to the pack lands, he seemed in trouble and badly wounded, but strangers could be as deceptive as they could be true; although it appeared as the latter when the man fell to the ground.
Benjamin's slowed to a cautious halt, a mere few feet ago between them. By now his breathing had returned and the ache in his chest was more than bearable. He kept his eyes upon the stranger all the while searching their immediate surroundings. "Do you need help; are you alone?" he asked loudly enough for the man to hear, as well as anyone whom might be hiding near by. It might have seemed a stupid question, but it was better to be cautious than to be stupid and though the stranger had fallen to the ground in obvious confusion, he was coherent enough to speak.

"speech."

PostSubject: Re: Say it isn't so.    Say it isn't so. EmptyThu Aug 27, 2015 8:11 am

The sun beat down upon the earth around him in such a warming glow that Cayden had fallen asleep among the thickly green blades of grass that seemed to prickle at his maw every so often, his earthen pelt something of a disturbance to the lush green plain that was the Jaspen Valley; a place that he hadn't visited much though in the absence of a real den not to mention the majority of pack life lately, he'd found it fitting to sleep in given that it sat as the border to the Kostas lands.
He hadn't been expecting company at all, by no means had he planned for any interruptions in the day, Cayden Nekishu more than content to laze about as Veita was off once more doing her own thing and he'd afforded a spout of his own to kill time in absolute carelessness and relaxation. If it hadn't been for the strong scent of blood wafting across the subtle breeze, Cayden might have considered it the perfect day.

One could only dream however. The scent awoke him from his dazed slumber only to rock a little in gathering himself to all fours and turning every which way searching for the source of the scent. A little to the east of him though not alone, it seemed to have found its way to his father, whatever this thing was and so meant that by no means could Cayden ignore the intrusion. As little as the two had spent time together, Benjamin was his blood and his entrance into the pack. Raikou would refuse him had he turned his back on such a time.
With a quickly fumbled step, his mind still trying to scream itself to awaken, Cayden set off into a quick sprint, soon meeting full burst and heading towards the pair, the green tongues springing from the soiled floor licking cheekily against the sides of his face in teasing whiplash, the grass refusing to leave him, much as it had been in his sleep.

He sneezed a little, near choking upon the annoying sensation that a blade of grass had disturbed the tip of his nose and while it was something of a sheepish entrance, he found himself standing before the two regardless. His ears falling back a little as he lowered his head, studying the other male whilst slowly moving to Blaze's side in support; to which he remained quiet and simply stood on guard and eager to meet a threat should he be forced into doing so.

Kneeling didn't make him feel much better, in fact he thought he was hearing things. Voices to be exact. He hadn't seen anyone around yet he heard a voice as he fell and one again now. It carried authority yet he didn't much pay attention to it unsure of what surrounded him.
It was only when a second set of movement came followed by what he thought to be some sort of cough that he started to pay more attention. He swore someone asked him if he needed help.
A light laugh came between his lips through teeth that were grit tightly, his head had began to pound making everything feel like a kick to the skull but he couldn't ignore the humour of the question because he didn't actually know the answer, he didn't really understand how hurt he was or what Sylvia had done to him.
His head shook against the ground as tears stung his eyes at the thought of her. "Why did she do it?" he asked himself but probably would seem to be asking the two he had yet to look at. "Nope. No." his hands met the floor as he decided this situation had gone to far, perhaps he was dreaming, if he could only keep on moving maybe he could find his way back home to Sylvia and find that nothing had really changed.
He pushed against the ground raising first his head then the rest of his body until he stood upon his two feet his body waving backwards and forwards until he got his balance.
Looking something of a horror show he squinted at the light which burned into his retinas. The two before him stunk of his kindred, he had never met another beside his mother, it confirmed in his mind he was dreaming yet some how he still knew he wasn't, he was torn between a world of shattering anguish and one of false hope.
"Well..hello fellas" his voice still held the drunken sounding slur "Did I fall down a rabbit hole? I was expecting the white rabbit"

"Fear reminds us we're alive."

"Why did she do it?"

Do what? he almost asked, but instead came to the swift conclusion that this guy was either in real trouble, a great act or delusional. What ever the answer, it didn't need provocation with questioning. For the moment, Benjamin was sure of one thing, the man was not in a position to be answering any questions.
The sound of something rushing towards them within the grass brought forth the response of a resounding growl reverberating within his throat. He took a defensive stance, muscles bunching under the skin ready to spring upon what ever might be coming at them at high speed. With adrenaline already high from his highly intensive training, he was not beating around the bush today.
Sweat glistened in the hot sun, accompanied by the patches of thick dirt upon his skin the two mixing to smudge over his contoured figure and almost cover the branding upon his chest; the marking of his ownership. Fingers curled to form claw like figures as nails grew to points. The duo of emerald iris encircled within a golden ring as the glanced from grass to the beaten man, and teeth became visible from beneath softly pinked lips.
- but when the earthen toned wolf emerged from deep within the thickly grass, Benjamin became some what more relaxed, immediately turning back to the stranger whom was now standing, albeit unsteadily. Adrenaline had not left him, however, his posture realigned with the retreat of potential danger and a sigh visibly but silently left his lips before they were swept by a tongue.
He took a few cautious steps side ways, almost encompassing the man to assess the situation.
The blood upon him was very real and he was clearly beaten. He sounded drunk, but Benjamin had been near both a man delusional from blood loss and a man lost in his drink to know the difference. The stench that pooled from him was of their own kind, that was clear enough and with his son beside him Benjamin felt as though the two could handle anyone that might be near should it come to a fight. It took but a second for the decision to make itself.
A quick glance towards Cayden and he swept towards the man, propping him upon shoulder and taking no complaint about it. "Lupine life will not depart on Kostas land." he said, the decision to help the alien man clearly within the tone used.

Seeing his father in his alternative form was something Cayden hadn't quite been prepared for given that they were all standing upon the border to their pack-lands though it wasn't entirely unfortunate given that Cayden had recently gathered more experience in fighting under the Bushido way within the human form by that of his mentor, Raikou Diasu, the Ronin - fallen samurai.
His jaws clenched tightly down against each other, jagged teeth gritting as his body began to take the change, his bone structure misshaping and forcing his muscles to reform around a soon to be human appearance, clothed and all.

As he slowly rose to his feet, bare-footed human toes pressing down against the grass floor, his hooded jacket fell loose around his bare chest, open with no shirt underneath yet a tan color that matched his pants in baggy yet seemingly unrestrained gear, both the legs and the sleeves red ringed at the tips much alike that of the hood that covered most of his red hair, dirtied and falling down the sides of his face, those same crimson eyes remaining on the newcomer even though Benjamin's decision had been made so. His right hand held firm the sheathed Katana, his tanto - a smaller blade yet none the less deadly in his left yet with his fathers choosing to aid the individual, Cayden sought to secure the two blades against the material wrapping that had been something of a nomadic belt around his waistline.

Benjamin's decision wasn't something he'd question out in the open, his training under Raikou had taught him so much though his father knew the newcomer about as well as Cayden did and so as Blaze opened himself up to attack, Cayden's focus didn't veer off from the figure while he slowly moved to follow them in toe, his right hand remaining gently upon the hilt of his Katana as they moved in the direction of Blaze's heading.

Neither of them answered him when he spoke, he knew they heard him maybe they didn't understand him. But then he remembered the first one spoke to him so they were on the same language at least.
He took a step but everything wobbled more so much so it made him feel sick "Shit" he muttered underneath his breath. Surely if this was all in his mind it wouldn't hurt so much, but deciding that hurt him more causing the image of Sylvia all mottled and lifeless to surface in his memory making him clutch at his own chest like someone had delivered a savage blow directly to his heart. He felt the cold of the gun barrel pressed to his skull and he flinched the sound of the gun cracking through his memory.
Blaze had moved to take hold of him by the time he started to find reality again, he didn't fight him off to shaken by what ever had just happened to him to do much about being man handled.
He said something about Lupines causing Miles to glance sideways at him, then to the other one "Woah ok.." it seemed during his episode Cayden had changed forms, he didn't look anymore impressed with Miles in this one either.
"Look" he held one of his hands up, it was hard to tell what colour his skin was underneath the layers of dried blood "I'd rather you just let me lie down here..right?" he asked moving didn't seem like all that much fun to him, it only made him feel worse and cause what ever the hell just happened to him.
"I mean surely that's a good idea. Maybe I can catch some sunrays, get a tan?" he wasn't looking at either of them now his head had lowered under its own weight and tears were building in his eyes again without his permission, he knew that she was gone, he could feel it, the certainty was growing. "I'm not supposed to be here.." he trailed off talking to himself again now "It's wrong"

Kumari never failed to surprise Maylin. Around every corner was always a new surprise waiting but lately it had been exceptional. Cayden had walked back into their life and now after all of her searching their mother had appeared on their doorstep despite her travels in an attempt to find her and her sister.

Now, now she moved through the Valley tracking her father and as she discovered, her brother also. Her steps were bouncy, her head held high. She was excited to see her father and brother again. Her family was almost whole now all except for Mikayla but with the sudden emergence of her other family members, she had high hopes that she would also be found or find them.

What she had never expected was to find her father and her brother cradling a stranger. She cocked her head in confusion but bounced towards the males regardless. She sensed no hostility or ill well from the stranger or her family as she happened to stroll in on the situation.

" Hey Dad. Hey Cayden. Whatcha doing? " she asked as if she had never left staring at the man her father was cradling. The man was covered in blood and he was in pain, she could feel his pain and it made her frown. She wondered if her father and brother had found them this way or had caused his injuries but was more concerned for their safety then that of the stranger.

" Is he ok? " she asked blinking and looking at the man curiously and then glancing over at her father and brother. It wasn't the homecoming she had planned by any means but she could see that her father was preoccupied so she could wait. Maybe she and Cayden could catch up in the meantime.

"Fear reminds us we're alive."

Even after all the drama this man had seemingly been through, it was obvious his humour was still intact, even if his sanity wasn't; at least for the moment. Benjamin shook his head at the mans response, not waiting for Cayden to finish his shift before moving off back the way the man had come - away from Kostas Lands. The father knew that his son was quite capable of catching up should they manage to disappear through the wall of trees before his shift had finished; but sure enough, the teenager was right behind them in next to no time.
"Shut up." Benjamin said with emerald eyes darting yet another time, "Your smell alone will draw others near, let alone your loud incoherent yelling." Normally Benjamin would be all for the jest, but given the circumstances he was less than in the mood.
He glanced sideways at Cayden and mirrored the males frustrations, although he was sure that his son was annoyed for other reasons - noting the hand lingering near the hilt of his weapon. He noticed only then that this was the first time he had met his son as a human. The striking red hair resembled that of Benjamin's so many years ago, it matched those crimson eyes - something Benjamin had given wonder to. He could have smiled if he wasn't already preoccupied.
This man was being less than cooperative, but Benjamin was thankful that he wasn't fighting them off. It would have been harder to remove him from their borders had he been coherent enough to gather physical strength. Readjusting the hold he had upon the guy, he continued away from pack lands but halted as something struck a nerve.
He paused, less in breath as well as movement - like a statue. "May?" he asked aloud in obvious disbelief. She had not yet shown herself, but the father shared such a connection with his daughter that when she was near he knew.
The brute raised his head to examine the area quickly and then, sure enough, out of the thickened trees she bounded with happy steps, speaking as if she had seen both father and brother just yesterday.
The fathers first instinct was to drop the man and embrace that which he had yearned to see since her departure, but he held fast, instead answering Maylins question with small hesitation and yet another glance to his son, "We're unsure. We've only just come upon him."
-and then he smiled, obviously happy to see her. The reunion hadn't been what he had hoped for, but he was happy she was here at least. The iridescent fur along her body was no stranger to him and neither was it a long time since he had laid upon its likeness.

"Theres a den near the creek, it's small but we can take him there to rest and clean him up. You can help, if you like?" he asked her softly, taking a gentler approach with his daughter than he would have with Cayden; for no reason in particular other than Cayden had been battle hardened and in Benjamin's eyes, Maylin was his to protect, and he was fiercely protective of her - though he knew her to be as strong willed as her mother, it mattered not to a father.

PostSubject: Re: Say it isn't so.    Say it isn't so. EmptySat Aug 29, 2015 8:10 am

Benjamin and the stranger seemed to have taken his demeanor as a sign that he held contempt for the newcomer though that wasn't the case and while he didn't argue the looks they gave him that sent him the impression of such, he remaining quiet and followed in behind the pair ever-ready as Raikou Diasu had taught him to do so, long ago.

It was not something that he could explain to his father, his sudden loss for a personal presence in the face of a potential hazard though his willingness to fall in line, silent and obedient was something Raikou had emphasized during their training; something of the Ronin's past coming into play with their training as well as trying to rough out the recklessness in Cayden though this was also the first time he'd had to meet Pack standards when following behind Benjamin as his fellow pack member and not so much as family. It surprisingly came much easier by instinct than Cayden had suspected and the more he thought about it the more he knew it might bother and disturb his sense of pride; pride that was often the route of his getting into trouble and something he had to swallow in the moment now.

The moment his sister came into the situation however, that all changed. "Maylin...", his eyes widened on mere sight of her. Turning side on from Miles and his father as he looked to the approaching fae in disbelief. He'd not seen her in forever and only a matter of days after her mothers return, here she was walking back as if she'd never been gone. Unlike Cayden's run-in with Eclipse however, there was no resentment to be found in seeing her again. Releasing his the hilt of his blade still sheathed he wanted to approach almost forgetting about his fathers charge in care to his right; soon reminded as Blaze seemed to try to guide Miles off away from the Kumari border. His gaze lingered upon his sister, his lips parting to speak though his father beat him to it in explaining the current situation behind the newcomer and in doing so, caused Cayden to remember his place, lifting his head in a half nod to Maylin and offering a half smile truly glad to see her back again though turning away to follow Miles and not allow to much distance to be speant between the three.

It was something of a difficult position to be in. The instant his sister had turned back up, Cayden felt the urge to revert back to his careless days spent as just a young pup with her and 'kayla, playing and being silly together though things had changed and his decision to enter the pack had been taken under something of a personal and serious oath to himself that he'd keep his honor in being part of the Kostas. Rather than calling out to her and breaking his composure, he gestured her to come with him while his father mentioned of the Den, a possible place they could take refuge while Miles could recover with or without their help.

The bigger male didn't let up on the fact he was 'guiding' Miles in the direction he had come from. He frowned, he couldn't really remember why he had come this way in the first place but surely he had a reason now Blaze was trying to take him back. He tried to divert his steps to the side but it was useless he was simply to uncoordinated and Blaze seemed to have a firm and steady hand upon him.
"Well that's rude" he muttered upon being told to shut up. He could tell Blaze obviously had some authority in the area but that didn't mean much to him, he didn't know where he was let alone who he was with the confusion half amused him but it was quickly beginning to irritate him also.
He sniffed the air at Blaze's comment but all he could really smell were Blaze and Cayden, then someone else.
His head moved rising up to take in the sight of the new one. A female. He looked at her then lowered his head again not feeling the amount of energy it would take.
He listened in they all seemed to know each other, they sounded fond of her. He concentrated on following his feet and the way Blaze seemed to want him to move. It seemed they were taking him somewhere they called a Den. They were wolves for sure, he smirked to himself concealing a grimace as the expression caused a shooting pain along the side of his head which made him flinch, with the pain came another image of Sylvia sitting on the bed, he tried to concentrate on it but he didn't have chance the image of her body replacing it in a quick flash setting all his muscles on edge only managing to intensify his pain and spur his memory giving him some moments of clarity where he knew what was happening.
His throat tightened and again he tried to free himself from Blaze, he didn't care whether he had the strength or not, he felt the urge to go back to find her and prove to himself what was real and what was not.

Hearing the familiar nickname her father had called her since she was a pup made her smile. Despite having trekked through her home place, she didn't truly feel like she was at home till she heard her Dad call her by that affectionate pet name.

He explained what was going on but seemed to have very little information on the strange fellow who seemed rather confused himself. She perked up hearing that she could of been some use to her father and the male who seemed in need of it.

She glanced over to Cayden who seemed shocked to see her but he was as happy to see her as she was to see him. It was however strange to see her father and brother together like this. From what she remembered, Cayden hadn't been fond of their father when they first met but they seem to have reconciled. Cayden even seemed to be following their father. It wasn't what she had expected but she was glad they had made their peace, or so it seemed.

Cayden gestured for her to follow and she did so happily choosing to plod alongside her brother staring at the man her father carried. He attempted to struggle against her father and she stared at him trying to understand why. " He's looking for someone. " she said cocking her head to the side. " Who are you looking for? " she asked him now wondering if there was someone else out there who needed help or worse case scenario, would attack them to get to him.

"Fear reminds us we're alive."

Benjamin tightened his grip upon the male as he began to squirm. It wasn't done so in aggression, but rather to keep the man safe. He seemed to slip in and out of a current and coherent mind and until they could figure out what was truly going on with him, it was safer for all of them - perhaps - to keep a close watch on each other.
"Yeah? Well if you stopped smelling the flowers and realised that we're trying to help you I might be more forgiving of you." He retorted quickly to the mans response. It was hard enough having a stranger in their midst, who as of yet didn't know where he was or how he had gotten there; that much they had figured out and the sooner they reached a safe place the sooner they could all work it out and stop this man bleeding out.
His emerald gaze swept upon his children. The look of longing between them and the way Cayden moved so fluidly to greet his sister, only stopping to remember his place in the current situation burnt Benjamin within. He only wished the two an embrace as siblings; one they had longed for since separation and one he felt they both needed.
Soon. He reassured himself before moving off once more; but May's sudden voice stopped him, the alarm in her voice apparent at the realisation that neither Benjamin and Cayden could muster having not had the same ability as Maylin to read the man in ways they could not. Eyes darted to the strange man and then to the forest beyond - searching. If there truly was another, then they'd need to find them and fast. With this guys condition depleting rapidly, who knows what or who was out there.

Benjamin seemed concerned by the revelation there might've been another figure out there, it looked as if his father was hoping to care for them too though as Cayden put his back to his sister, his eyes turned to scower the far plains in search of any others that might be waiting in threat hoping to drop them with the element of surprise in order to take back their friend from there apparent captivity. "Benjamin...", he spoke up in acknowledgement of his father though used his name still not entirely able to call the man his father; that and the stranger didn't need a bigger impression of the way their family structure worked. "Perhaps we should get him settled quickly, if someone else is out there looking for him this won't look so well in our favor...", his thumb pressed up against the underside of his Katana's pommel, separating it from the tight comfort of it's sheath, loosening the two for a quick draw in the case he needed it; while he didn't release the sword from its housing, the seconds difference the ease of access to the weapon meant everything in the face of a threat to him and his blood.

His demeanor changed though it was only marginally noticable by those that cared to look that closely at the male but it seemed he was favoring his Sister as opposed to having his fathers back with the individual in his charge. While his father could handle himself, Cayden's priority had turned to that of Maylins safety; not that she likely needed it, he wondered how she'd been the passing weeks she'd been gone and assumed she'd been on her own the entirety of the time yet it mattered little in the moments that passed, he felt responsible being a male of the family. Cayden continued to walk alongside his Sister, his eyes glancing back and fourth from the newcomer and their surroundings, his brows furrowed in both concentration and uncertainty for the new appearance, leaving the 'interrogation' to his father and Maylin if she was required to step in.

'Looking for someone' cut through his own thoughts making him raise his head to look at the female with a quiet gaze while the others started to talk amongst themselves. They were treating him like a threat but on a logical level he knew that was probably the best idea, he would have done the same when he had Sylvia's protection at the forefront of his responsibilities, the thought stung him enough that he found a little focus for a few minutes, enough to relive what had happened properly. He still wanted to pretend it wasn't real, everything inside of him tried to steer him that way in a monumental inner fight for self protection but he couldn't ignore the three around him and that he had found himself in their company for a reason and that reason was Sylvia.
Freeing one of his hands it moved to the side of his head placing over his hair where the neat little bullet hole was concealed he closed his eyes and looked moved his head away, it hurt unlike anything he had ever felt or could have ever imagined, enough that he wanted it to instantly end but it hurt nothing like the thought of her back in the cabin alone to be feasted upon with animals.

Another internal battle commenced, the side knowing the reality wanted to go back and find her, to see for himself and put her to rest despite what she had done to him he would never hate her he loved her to much. The other side tried to convince him that she would turn up at some point all mad at him for doing a vanishing act, he half laughed half sobbed at himself and lowered his hand once more fresher blood trickling along his finger tips.
"Looking for someone...yeah" he muttered opening his eye lids to look back at the trees the way the male was leading him, it would take him closer to her. "She isn't looking for me though"

Maylin stayed focused on the man as she read him but the mounting concerns from her brother and father for both their own and her safety was enough to raise the heckles on her neck.

She chose to stay close to her brother who was feeling fiercely protective of her and was on high alert. Concentrating on the stranger meant that she was unable to focus on her surroundings which she realised but her at risk. Beside Cayden she knew that he would act as her eyes and ears and alert her to any threat if it was needed.

The male raised his head to look at her and her emerald hues stared right back. He was clearly in pain, fresh blood trickled from his head and onto his hand and her nose could easily pick it up. This did not work to their advantage if he was being tracked. But his concern seemed to not be for himself.

Who it was she didn't know, she wasn't a mind reader but she could feel his concern and love for the person so it was a safe bet to assume it was someone important to him. " He's injured.. " she muttered knowing that her father and brother had probably deduced that fact without her but she hated to see anyone in the pain he was in and it clearly bothered her.

" But I don't think he means any harm. He just wants to find whoever it is he is looking for. " with that conclusion she visibly relaxed a little but she was still aware they were not safe yet. " What's your name? I'm Maylin. " she said giving him a small smile to try and reassure him and gain some trust.

He had already heard her family call her by her name so she wasn't telling him anything he didn't already know but she thought it would be nice to introduce herself and get some information to help him. " This is my Dad and brother, they're going to help you, just relax ok. " she hoped he would stop fighting against her father and they could get him and themselves to safety quicker.

She didn't want to but if she had to she had ways of making him relax but she hoped he would choose it for himself as she hated to manipulate people that way unless absolutely necessary.

"Fear reminds us we're alive."

Benjamins orbs swept to Cayden as he requested the attention of his alpha. A silent nod in ageeance and he kept moving forwards, shifting the mans weight with a heave so that he was comfortably draped around shoulder; but the moving would require the stranger to walk some what lest Benjamin carry him completely.
Ears twitched, even when in human form as he listened to Maylin and the man conversing. While Maylin was most likely right in the way of the stranger not being any harm to them, there was no chance to be taken; and he was thankful Cayden was on such high alert. Seeing Raikous training in the act first hand was something else, that was for sure.

A thought pressed to the forefront of Benjamins mind for a mere second before it was filed back for later reviewing. As Maylin provided the man with their names and their status in the family, each in turn Benjamin inwardly groaned. It hadn't been something he wanted to do; not yet at least. It would have been preferred to learn more about the man before stating such things "We will get him to a safer place before taking formalities." He reassured all of them, though without a stern voice.

The creek be was not far and before long its trickling water graced his ears. He halted near the water, eyes looking left to right before resting on Cayden momentarily, " Please take him for a moment." He asked.
After laying the man upon his sons shoulders, arm draped around, Benjamin disappeared around the bend of the creek.
A few minutes past before he reappeared, mud draped all over his naked torso. His hand flung into the air, ushering them towards him silently.

He took the brunt of Miles weight off of his feet, taking one of his arms across both shoulders, his right hand leaving the hilt of his sheathed sword to hold the injured male by the wrist; securing him against his left side. "Do me a favor...-Don't make a move for one of my blades" Cayden spoke softly under his breath to Miles, his cloth belt though tightly tied at his right side held his Katana sheathed just below the knot while at the back, the smaller blade, the tanto rested sheathed and secured behind him, the latter a weapon that had not yet seen blade nor was it meant to bleed anyone else. An honorary weapon, Cayden was putting some faith in the stranger not to abuse his trust, secretly a little frustrated as his father had basically thrown the injured one at him though he gave no complaint in response and as Cayden soon glanced back to Maylin, he studied her in quiet out of concern for what her past held in recent days, rather than anything else; they would wait patiently and soon see that Blaze didn't take his time in his return.

He aided in the mans path, guiding Miles to walk with him side by side as they approached though despite seeing his father, he did not let go of the stranger figuring it best to keep on while they were still without company of any others, Cayden hoped that Maylin would be keeping an eye on his back in the case that the injured one were to get any silly idea's. "Lead on..." Cayden spoke up softly as he looked to Benjamin, offering a firm nod in confidence, not slowing as he expected time wasn't exactly on their side.

The female seemed kinder to him then the other two though none of them were being cruel he would have just preferred that they left him to it to curl up and either die or sleep on his own.
The bigger male handed him off for a moment to the one that had joined them he did not seem to thrilled about it at all but did as he was told with a warning to Miles. He hadn't missed the fact that Maylin had said he was no threat he pointed at her "As she said, i'm no harm" he sighed looking up to see the trees again they were moving closer it made his feet feel heavier and his stomach fill with dread but he still on some level wanted to see her

Blaze vanished and reappeared mud covered, he frowned at him wondering if he were imagining it or not his eyes blurred upon the figure, but sure enough he made a gesture for them all to move towards him and they did that.
"Where are you taking me?" he didn't care really, it seemed his destination was out of his control but he thought on some level he should know.
"I just want to see her OK. Or lie down in the grass either seems good to me. Why won't you let me?" he asked his voice tainted with a slightly annoyed tone.
"I wasn't hurting anyone.... can't a dude perspire in peace these days?"

Maylin was genuinely concerned for the male as as their time with him increased. His emotions seemed genuine and so did his pain, both physical and emotional. She was curious about him, how he had come to be in this state and who it was he was looking for.

But she stopped herself from asking anymore questions as she picked up on his disappointment. She hated to let her father down in anyway so she decided to try and refrain from asking anymore questions or telling him anything without approval first.

Her father handed the burden of the man over to Cayden as she watched the water flowing through the creek. Maylin wasn't able to answer the question of where they were taking him, Maylin wasn't sure herself. She had been gone a long time and didn't know all of her father's hiding places. But she trusted him implicitly but she didn't think she could convince the male of that.

Left alone with Cayden she sat on her hind legs and waited for their father to return. The man's words grew more distressing as he mentioned perspiring and a 'her' she could only assume was the one he was looking for. " It's going to be ok.. " she said hoping to reassure him but not saying much after that. He hadn't told her his name so she didn't know what else to say to the stranger. She would never side against her family.

Her father re-emerged muddy and indicating for them to follow him. She nodded at Cayden to go first. She would follow behind her brother and the injured one. It made the most sense to her as she was unsure where they were going and she would have Cayden's back.

"Fear reminds us we're alive."

Benjamin knew that he needn't wait for the others to catch up to him before he moved off, they'd follow his scent easily enough. He moved with much more agility with ought having to carry the male, until he came to a lower gathering of boulders at the bas of a very old tree. One who's bark seemed to be peeling from it's very trunk much like liquid.
A hand came to rest upon the tree trunk while he momentarily stabilised himself before slipping between the large rocks and seemingly disappeared without a trace beside hiss scent.

Waiting patiently at the bottom for one of his children to appear before holding his hands upwards in a gesture to let the man come down. "Do you think you can make it down here?" he asked the stranger before guiding the man down carefully and slinging him over shoulder once more. They didn't stop to wait for Cayden or Maylin, instead moving forward into the camouflaged cave within. Benjmamin had to duck to fit under the stone over head, but once inside he took a seat, lowering the man to an old worn pile of furs that lay within. A small table made from the base of a tree trunk beside with a small dish, a cup made from the bone of a deer and a mortar and pestle resting atop it.
"My name is Benjamin." he said finally, "I'm sorry to have been so brash but we had to get you clear of anyone whom might cause harm."
He wasn't a strong an empath as his daughter, but having been of kin and blood to her gave the ease to read her well enough and he was satisfied with her comfortability with the stranger to speak with him now.

Cayden followed as expected until they reached the mouth of the breach, an enclosure, a cave in that Cayden didn't recognize, something it seemed his father had kept quiet. Curious, he eyed the opening for a time before loosing Miles from his grip and allowing the male to proceed slowly down on his own while the younger male remained topside. His father was right to assume there might be others about, though Miles claimed to be on his own, searching for someone; it hadn't taken Cayden long in these lands to not take people by their word upon first impressions. Turning soon, he looked to his Sister, a slim smile breaking through his stoic features now in the short absence of the other two. "I'm glad your okay Sis...-Head on down if you like, we can catch up later on" he offered a slight bob of his head to the right whilst moving to lean back against the tree that had marked their fathers entry, his hands tugging at his hood, pulling it over top of his head to shadow his face before falling into the comfort of his jacket pockets. Confident in his fathers ability, he didn't have any doubts that Maylin would be at risk down there without him; he felt he best served the group by remaining with a watchful eye on their surroundings intent on refusing anyone to corner their dysfunctional family and bring cause to further dampen his spirits of late.

(It's short, sorry, headaches be plaguing this one).

Fleetingly it would occur to Miles what had happened but it never stuck in his head long enough for him to decide whether it was factual or just something he was making up due to what ever reason his head felt like it had been caved in numerous times. All he knew that everything was far from all right and that he needed to find her, he didn't know how they had become separate in the first place. Maylin tried to tell him it would be OK, she was reassuring and soft as she spoke but he laughed quietly to himself unable to conceal a hint of madness and hysteria from it his finger rose into the air as if to silence the reassurance. "Oh no... no it won't"
He had been moved over to Blaze by that point and was being helped to move down towards what looked like the entrance to a cave he would have resisted if he could but he knew he wouldn't get away. "Why are you trapping me?" he grumbled as he was settled down Blaze apologizing for it all yet he shook his head, he didn't care about any of that, he didn't want to be in here he wanted to be out looking for her.
"Ok, uh- Benjamin" he nodded rubbing his face into his hands in fatigue, managing to smear it with a mixture of fresh and dried blood as he did, though he didn't seem to notice or care.
"Miles" he placed his palms on the stone floor his dull eyes rising to look around, he would have to leave whether they wanted to or not.
"I really can't be here you know. I need to go.." his eyes tracked back to the males pupils slightly uneven and obviously dazed "Like now. I need to go"

Maylin always marvelled at her father's abilities to hide these locations throughout the land. But she was glad to have the marker of the tree to show her the entrance. She followed her father's scent watching Cayden and the stranger as well as looking behind them to make sure they weren't being followed.

She stood back allowing Cayden room to lower the man in. He however stood back and indicated for her to follow. " I'm glad you and Dad are getting on. It's nice, like one big happy family. " she smiled back and then made her way into the den leaving Cayden up top where he seemed to want to be.

Maylin moved to be with her father looking around his humble abode. It wasn't all that different from what she was used too growing up. Her father was making the introductions and seemed to be taking a kinder approach with the man. She was glad of this as he seemed to have been through enough already and she was still worried about the head wound.

She looked around for something she knew her father would have laying around somewhere. A pack he would carry with clothes in it. It was normally attached to him and she normally had one of her own but she had lost it in her travels.

She knew she did not need to ask to borrow the shirt she found. It was large and long so she knew it would fit her form. Carrying it in her mouth she moved around the trunk out of sight of the males, giving her some privacy. She never felt all that comfortable in her two legged form. She felt more vunerable but here with her father she felt more at ease.

She re-emerged from behind the tree, her father's shirt covering her body to about her mid thigh. She brushed her long wavy hair out of her face exposing her freckled face that had a warm smile for both her father and the male. The male was still eager to leave but she hoped he would get some help first. " Miles is it? " she asked softly approaching him grabbing a cloth on the way.

" You're looking for someone aren't you? " she asked holding the cloth out to him so he could clean the blood off of himself. " You want to find them but you need help, you're hurt and bleeding. " she was hoping to soothe his anxiety. " Let us help you and then you can find your friend. " she wasn't sure whether any of this was going to get through to him. He was so confused but she had to try.
